David E. Swindall, M.Div., LMFT
David Swindall is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is in independent practice in Pinellas County, Florida.
His practice is based on the understanding that we are all connected to one another and to the Divine Source. His formal training was in psychology from Georgia State University and in pastoral counseling at Columbia Theological Seminary. His internship and residency was at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia, in Clinical Pastoral Education. David has been Clinical director and Executive of a drug treatment center and director of training at a family counseling center.
Since 1988, David has been a leader in addressing domestic violence in the community. He is the director of a state Certified Batterers’ Intervention program that addresses the use of violence in relationships and how to develop equal partnership in a relationship. He won the Leadership Award from the Pinellas County Domestic Violence Task Force in 2012. He is the Colleague Collaboration Facilitator for the Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association. He is certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and he is trained in clinical hypnosis. He also is certified as an Advanced ART Practitioner by the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (IS-ART).
